Case Study: Footbridge of a Multipurpose High School in Loire-Atlantique (France)

Unique structural challenges – a highly complex joint design that made traditional analysis methods insufficient.

A new 40-metre footbridge connecting a high school in Loire-Atlantique presented several unique structural challenges: inclined columns, unconventional anchorage systems, and significant wind loads. The complexity of the joints made traditional analysis methods inadequate.

Using a finite element model, the engineering team identified the critical components, reinforced them against local deformation, and performed advanced buckling analysis to ensure long-term structural stability.
