The PriMus quantity takeoff can be subdivided into different categories to organically group homogeneous types of work. The levels of subdivision in the quantity takeoff are three to achieve a certain granularity. The categorization of the quantity takeoff provides an immediate framework of costs for each trade (for example, structure, finishing, building facilities).

The use of different levels of subdivision of categories can allow the distribution and display of costs of super-groups or sub-groups.
